Dr. Shri Ram is Librarian and Professor (Library and Information Management) at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. He has more than 24 years of Experience in Library Administration and Management. He holds a PhD in Library and Information Science from Osmania University. Has qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by University Grants Commission in 2003. His educational qualification includes Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (Anthropology) from University of Delhi; Master of Library and Information Science and Bachelor of Library and Information Science from Annamalai University, and M. Phil in Library and Information Science from Alagappa University.
He has been awarded with Commonwealth Professional Fellowship by Brish Council United Kingdom London in 2013 at University of East London, London. He has been also awarded with ICSSR – NRCT Bilateral Exchange of Scholars at Thammasat University, Bangkok Thailand in Thailand. His significant contribution to academic library includes Implementation of innovative technology in the library to facilitate smooth functioning. These innovative technologies and services include, automation of library, RFID implementation, setting up institutional repositories, design of custom content digital library, and Ask-a-Librarian services to make library a complete digital library system. On research support services, he has developed a platform which facilitates monitoring the research progress of the Institution through dashboard, supporting research through various outreach activities, and organizing seminars, workshop and training to the researchers as well as budding library science students.
He has also published about sixty-five research papers published in national and international journals and conferences; along with edited five books.
